The Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management recently conducted a result based Procurement Planning Clinic for Project Accountants and Procurement officers in Abuja.

The objectives of the clinic was to align NEWMAP 2017 procurement activities with  project development objectives; adoption of procurement  strategies that will lead to value for money and improved disbursement; sharing of project implementation best practices; and timely public disclosure of approved/updated procurement plans in line with  best practices and  Guidelines.

The exercise was another in the series of regular   procurement training/ enhancement delivery by the Project with support from World Bank and Highfield Stronghold (NEWMAP Procurement consultants). During the exercise, all the PMU’s got their draft 2017 procurement plans reviewed, while all procurement implementation bottlenecks were discussed and resolved.
