Dateline: 24th September – 5th October 2018 A joint Mission of the World Bank (WB), European Investment Bank (EIB),Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Federal Government of Nigeria(FGN) to the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) on Due Diligence and Implementation Support took place in Abuja, Akwa-ibom, Edo, and Katsina States•
However, the mission schedules of individual team members vary within the overall mission period due to parallel field visits and travel schedules.
The Mission objectives was to:
(i) follow-up on every facet of the proposed partnership between WB and EIB in order to leverage additional funding for NEWMAP;
(ii) follow-up on the signing of Financial Agreement and Effectiveness of the Additional Financing for NEWMAP;
(iii) work with the Project Management Units to prepare an accelerated project implementation plan; and (iv) follow-up on pending issues and the agreed actions from previous missions.
