The recent activities include following, the channelization and Remediation works in the lastly cleared four flood intervention sites of-
1 Odunukwe-Nkaliki/Hatchery road,
2 Iyi-Okwu International Market,
3 Iyi-Udele and
Ebyia River flood Sites that is ongoing and had attained 70% level completion with installation of perimeter fencing to avoid drowning.
Also, the RAP implementation for the three sites has been completed remaining that of Iyi-Udele which is highly hindered by lack of enough counterpart fund for the payment compensation to the project affected persons(PAP)in that site.
As NEWMAP strong effort to improve the lives of site communities, six Solar Powered Motorized boreholes have been installed, commissioned and handed over to six benefiting of-
1 Mgbor Echara in Odunukwe-Nkaliki/Hatchery road,
Mbieri in Iyi-Udele ,
Obama in Iyi-Okwu,
Obegu Aba in Ebyia River,
Rice Mill in Old Water Works and
Egu Ugwu Umunaga -Asumunaga Uburu flood sites.
This official commissioning and handing over ceremony was performed by the Honorable commissioner for Environment Chief Emma Uguru alon side the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Environment Honorable Emma Nwafor.
Recently, Ebonyi NEWMAP in collaboration with Ministry of Environment procured one hundred and seventy units tricycles to ease movement.
