The Team for NEWMAP Data Validation Mission was in Abia State and in hours toured round three(3) project sites of Abia NEWMAP. The team comprising the Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist, Social Livelihood Specialiat , Environmental Safeguard Specialist and Communication team among other members of FPMU visited remediated gully erosion sites, CIG sites and interviews with beneficiaries . The Chairman State Steering Committee and Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Solomon Ogunji, recently took a tour round Abia NEWMAP project sites across the State. In the company of Permanent Secretary Ministry of Environment and management team, Abia NEWMAP Project Coordinator and field officers and some media personnels, the exhausative tour covered NEWMAP five (5) gully erosion sites at UUMUOGELE UMUAKWU & UMUEZEUKWU NSULU in Isiala Ngwa north local government area, UMUAGU IBEKU & AMUZUKWU IBEKU in Umuahia north local government area and AMUDA ACHARA in Umunneochi local government area.
