The Honourable Minister of State Environment, Mr. Ibrahim Usman Jibril has urged participants to leverage on the catchment planning and management training for successful project implementation.

The Minister stated this on Monday, 1st August 2016 in Anambra state during a media mission to Anambra and Enugu states to create awareness on NEWMAP activities and verify implementation progress since the date of project effectiveness-3yrs ago.

Speaking earlier, Dr. Amos Abu, Task Team Leader NEWMAP informed the minister that the training was in line with Component 1B of NEWMAP which supports integration of natural resources management with community livelihoods to address the issue of degradation of natural resources and biodiversity.

Dr. Abu stated that the specific objective of the training is to effectively enhance the capacity of the key stakeholders (FPMU, SPMU, UNGO and SFNGOs) to deliver on the catchment management components of NEWMAP, including community engagement.
