Owing to His Excellency, the Governor of Kogi State’s determination to tackle the hydra-headed challenge of erosion and flooding in Lokoja, the State Capital, the Hon. Commissioner for Works and his Team, alongside the Project Coordinator, Kogi State NEWMAP, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto, were today, at the Jakura Marble Industry culvert, along Kpata Market Road, behind the Ministry of Works, Lokoja, where there is budding gully threat, which if not nipped in the bud, could prove a menace in the nearest foreseeable future. It is hoped that, in partnership with the State Ministry of Works, the imminent danger being posed by the forming gully, would be a thing of the past… This desire for collaboration was reiterated by the Hon. Commissioner for Works, Alh. Ohere, who assured the people of the State, of the determination of the environment friendly Governor to tackle head-on, the menace of gully erosion in Lokoja, as well as other vulnerable parts of the State.
